Peace does not require perfection

PEACE DOES NOT REQUIRE PERFECTION

Dear Friend in Peace,

Sometimes we do better than others. I recently managed to disappoint myself rather solidly and have spent a fair bit of time reviewing my shortcomings: the list is long, tedious, and discouraging.
Eventually, I tired of berating myself and stopped, tuned in and listened to Guidance which is always available, if we but listen. Below are two thoughts from my Guides that have helped me; it is my deepest heart’s desire that they will be of benefit to you as well.

Hearing those words, feeling those words and embodying those words has helped change everything for me.  Yes, it’s something I thought I already knew, but just because we “know” something does not mean we can always live it.  When I read the word acceptance, everything in my body softens and feels peaceful. Acceptance allows us to shift our energetic field from one of rigidity to one of openness and allows us to open to outer and inner Light.  There is pure peace when we accept ourselves just as we are bumps, warts, shortcomings, and all.

Choosing acceptance does not mean we necessarily like what is, it means we accept what is, and in so doing allow ourselves both the possibilities of change and of peace.  It works; I am present and peaceful again.

Eckhart Tolle’s states :  “Whatever you accept completely will take you to peace, including the acceptance that you cannot accept, that you are in resistance.”  Isn’t that luscious?  Knowing that however much we mess up or resist, acceptance of whatever thoughts or emotions are within us will bring us home to peace!  Accepting my disappointment in myself brings me back to the peace that I am.  It has freed me to move forward in love and peace.

Thank you for nurturing acceptance and peace within you.

Yours in peace and love always,

Donna
