I chose this photo because it feels like a celebration of love to me. Sandhill Crane parents are attentive, so it’s easy to envision their love radiating to encircle their babies, as did my dear Grandma’s love for me and my cousins.
The wonderful news is that with or without a Grandma or other loving figure in our lives, we can be a source of the love we so desire. We can see ourselves as wee Sandhill Crane chicks and envelope ourselves in love. We can remind ourselves:
“As I show up as LOVE, I am PEACE.”

PEACE OF LOVE
Dear Friend in Peace,
Snuggling into Grandma’s hugs, I felt peace in every cell of my body. Immersed in her adoration, I felt safe and swaddled like an adored baby. Love radiated throughout her being and into mine. Her unconditional love flowed not only to me, but to all her grandchildren and we thrived in it!
Enveloped in love, our true nature prevails, and we radiate peace. So what do we do when there is no Grandma to make us feel safe, loved, and peaceful?
One very powerful option is for us to show up as LOVE, as love for ourselves and as love for others. It is a profoundly straightforward path to peace to simply show up as love.
How do we show up as love? No matter whether we want to show up as love for ourselves or for others, the path is the same: We treat ourselves and others with loving kindness, with gentleness.
- This might mean hugging yourself or a friend.
- It might mean stopping when you or another is overwhelmed and
o Breathing mindfully
o Singing
o Playing an instrument
o Walking.
o Watching birds
o Dancing - You might choose to put both of your hands on your heart and send yourself love. Within a few minutes, you will feel love flowing and a peaceful calm in your heart.
- Perhaps a loving time out of lying down and looking at clouds is the ticket for you and/or others. Clouds can be so soothing and peaceful.
- Another loving possibility is to meditate and/or chant when a shift to love is needed. I really enjoy chanting OM. It opens my heart with the vibration of peace.
Once you start thinking about ways to invite peace by showing up as love, you will continue to discover more. The key element they all share is to STOP whenever you feel unpeaceful and allow yourself to be the love you want to feel for yourself and/or others.
Nothing is hard, nothing is challenging unless we declare it so. All simply IS. Do not define the world. Allow it to be the Divine perfection that it is. We do not know all that is to unfold. Continue to see Light, to see hope, to see, feel, and be love. As you show up as love, you are peace. Allow that to be your goal.
Allow these words to be your mantra. “As I show up as LOVE, I am PEACE.”
Thank you for choosing peace in your thoughts, words, and actions.
Yours in peace and love always,
Donna
