One of my favorite flowers is Pennyroyal (Piloblephis rigida) because of its delightful minty fragrance and stunning beauty. Looking at and smelling this breath-taking plant is an immediate and easy way for me to choose peace. What works for you?

PEACE: OUR CHOICE
Dear Friend in Peace,
Life offers us precious opportunities in which to choose to be and offer peace and love. They can be as obvious as a friend in need of calm, reassurance, and loving kindness or more subtle as when another offers us a chance to translate his/her unkind comments or actions into their true meaning as a "Call for love." (ACIM)
One such opportunity for me to choose peace came to me through accusations of wrong-doing by me from my stepmother. My commitment to translating her words into a call for love came because of the misery I felt when holding grievances rather than peace in my heart. It was a profound blessing to work my way through that situation and discover SHE did not have to change at all. I was the one who needed to CHOOSE peace. As it turned out, she then chose peace as well.
Choosing peace means taking power over our lives and literally becoming that which we wish to see in the world. We are the only ones who can give ourselves peace. Once we take our power to choose peace, it changes everything. Peace is available for us to choose in every moment, in every breath.
As 2026 approaches, let us breathe in the blessing of knowing peace is not a gift from others, peace is a gift we give ourselves by using our power to choose thoughts, words, and actions that nurture peace within our hearts and minds.
Thank you for choosing peace in your thoughts, words, and actions.
Yours in peace and love always,
Donna
