BROTHERHOOD-SISTERHOOD OF PEACE

Dear Friend in Peace

As we approach International Peace Day, which is celebrated tomorrow: Monday, September 21st, may we take heart knowing that peace is cherished and celebrated worldwide. Yes, our peace matters and we are NOT alone. Millions of people throughout our world will be celebrating this Peace blessing with us.

The very first such global celebration was in 1982.

"... since wars begin in the minds of men, it is in the minds of men that the defences of peace must be constructed..."

Excerpt from UN General Assembly Resolution 36/67 (1981) establishing the International Day of Peace.

As People of Peace, our work is simple and universal. While we celebrate International Peace Day tomorrow, there are 364 other days each year filled with opportunities to mindfully choose peace in our thoughts, words, and actions. If, and when, we find ourselves NOT peaceful, we simply place our hands on our hearts and blow out fear, releasing and letting it go. Then we breathe in COMPASSION (for ourselves and others), and breathe in PEACE.

Don't be dismayed if you aren't peaceful all of the time. The more often we choose to return to Peace, the easier it becomes, especially when we remember there are literally millions of others worldwide who are holding the vibration of peace with us. Our combined peace flows to our communities, our states, nations and world.

May we always remember:
My Peace Matters.
My Peace changes me.
My Peace changes my family.
My Peace changes my friends.
My Peace changes my community.
My Peace matters!

This photo of the Peace Bell in front of the United Nations headquarters in New York City was given to the UN in 1954 by Japan. World War II motivated millions of individuals and many nations to crave, work for, and cherish PEACE.  May this beautiful PEACE BELL remind us that we are not alone in our commitment to PEACE. There is indeed a Worldwide Brother and Sisterhood of Peace and we are part of it.

I look forward to hearing your thoughts, successes, challenges, and ideas for creating more peace in YOUR heart.
Thank you for choosing peace in your thoughts, words and actions. I welcome, encourage, and enjoy your comments and suggestions.

Yours in peace and love always,
Donna
