Peace of Acceptance

PEACE OF ACCEPTANCE

---

Breathing in I fill my heart and mind with peace

Breathing out, I let go of fear

---

Breathing in I accept my birthright of peace

Breathing out, I let go of fear

---

Breathing in I accept my power to be peaceful

Breathing out, I let go of all that is not peaceful

---

Breathing in I fill my heart and mind with love

Breathing out, I send my peace to all

---

Breathing in I remember, we love one another

Breathing out, I send my love and peace to all

---

Your peace changes everything within and around you.

Thank you for choosing Peace.

Dear Friend in Peace,
When our elected representatives rubber stamp the destruction of our social safety net, our democracy, and our global reputation as honest brokers of help for others, it is easy to become distraught and distracted.

Peace asks otherwise.

Peace never has, and never will, come from the world or conditions around us. While there may be settings in which we feel more comfortable than others, peace has always been, and always will be, our responsibility. No one can hand us peace. It is ours to embrace in every breath and thought.
When we choose peace through accepting what is happening, not necessarily liking it, simply accepting that it is happening, we step into our power as people of peace. We stop wasting time bemoaning and criticizing. The peace of acceptance frees us from paralyzing and demoralizing thoughts and allows us to be fully present to what is, and to stand up for liberty and justice for all.

It was important to me to share photos that illustrate the importance and power of acceptance. Starting with our Florida Gopher Tortoise came to mind immediately since this amazing species provides shelter and safety in their burrows for over 350 other species, including snakes, mice, rabbits, skunks, opossums, and foxes. What amazing and accepting neighbors and friends they are! May we be so gracious and accepting.
Trees, including this gorgeous Live Oak, provide not only a space of acceptance for a variety of animals, they also offer food and shelter. For us humans, trees provide shade, clean the air, remove carbon dioxide from the air and give us spaces in which to literally feel their loving acceptance. May we be so wise.
Ernie and I encountered this gorgeous, precious and tiny Screech Owl at Boyd Hill Nature Preserve in St. Pete in the section where injured/rescued birds were sheltered. His powerful presence spoke: “Things don’t always flow the way we might wish, but we always have the power to choose peace.”

Thank you for choosing peace in your thoughts, words, and actions.

Yours in peace and love always,
Donna
