PEACE OF INFINITE POSITIVE POSSIBILITIES
Dear Friend in Peace,
The inspiration for the Peace of Infinite Positive Possibilities began 4 years ago during a life-changing trip to Bhutan with my dear friend, Ali. The nation of Bhutan evaluates its success by Gross National Happiness instead of Gross National Product which intrigued and inspired us. We wanted to experience what life was like in such a nation.
Almost everywhere we looked, people were happy, kind, involved in public life, and peaceful. When our goal is the possibility of happiness for all, not just a favored few, everything changes. Bhutan is living proof that it is possible to create conditions conducive to a thriving nation of peace and loving kindness.
Bhutan has prayer wheels everywhere: handheld ones for carrying on walks, rows of barrel-sized wheels lining temple courtyards, and water-powered ones built over streams that spin constantly sharing their prayers of peace and loving kindness with everyone. Each prayer wheel is engraved with Om Mani Padme Hum outside and filled with millions of printed prayers inside!
Some towns have community centers which contain one or more Tibetan Buddhist prayer wheels. These centers are frequented by elders who spin the sacred cylinders daily. As they spin the Prayer Wheels, they are sending peace and loving kindness throughout their community, their nation, and our world. In honor of the elders' service to the community, younger people cook food for them which is delivered by children. The children take their responsibilities very seriously and bring the food to the elders with loving reverence. Everyone has a purpose and everyone helps everyone else.
Our visit to Bhutan filled our hearts with the knowledge that Peace can be born of infinite Positive Possibilities. Just as each nation is unique in its wisdom and challenges, so are we each unique in our wisdom and challenges. Peace calls us to reach deep within to become the peace we wish to see, to create an atmosphere of peace wherever we are and to always, always, send blessings of peace and loving kindness to EVERYONE. In that way, we become spinning Prayer Wheels sharing our PEACE with everyone.

In Bhutan, instead of billboards, there were symbols of peace and loving kindness everywhere including Prayer Wheels and Prayer Flags. The Prayer Flags in this photo literally have prayers for Peace and Loving kindness for all printed on them. The winds carry these important blessings throughout the community, the nation, and our world. One feels the peace in such a place because of the abundance of symbols of peace and loving kindness in every community.
The atmosphere of such a peaceful nation innspired Ali and me to share our blessings from Bhutan with our friends and neighbors which was a blessing to all involved. Shortly after, I founded Venice Peace Project. May you too be inspired by the infinite positive possibilities and add a Peace Pole or other symbol of peace in your environment. I can feel the expansion of peace in our community, nation, and world, as we each step up to living the peace of infinite possibilities by always holding the vision of what we want to see rather than get sidetracked by what we don't want to see. Our power lies in the Positive Possibilities as does our Peace.
