STEADY DIET OF PEACE

Dear Friend in Peace,

To invite and sustain inner peace we fill our hearts, heads, and lives with a steady diet of Peace. We think peaceful thoughts, we choose activities that bring us home to peace, and we return to peace as often as needed.

One of the most powerful ways to nurture peace for me is to stop what I am doing, lie on the floor or ground and connect to my heartbeat. I hold my hands over my heart and connect to its compassion, love, and wisdom. No thoughts, no equipment, simply lying on the floor with hands over my heart. It works equally well on a bed, sitting in a chair or any comfortable position.

As requested by me, here are some of your marvelous suggestions for returning to, maintaining, and sustaining inner peace:

“One way the Peace School teaches to deal with these times of stress and fear, anger and other such emotions is the process called ‘Fading Away, World Peace.’ It is based on the teaching that emotions or thoughts of fear, anger, stress, etc. that come up from inside us, come from the subconscious, from a recorded past and are triggered by an event or circumstance in the present.
By inhaling and thinking that it is ‘Fading Away’ and exhaling and replacing it with a positive, bright, light-filled expression, such as ‘World Peace”. The previous tension is released and then the calming energy of World Peace replaces it. There are, of course, other positive, bright, light-filled thoughts, expressions and words to use. This is what the Peace School teaches.” – Richard

“I enjoy my backyard sitting under the trees with a gentle breeze. It helps me quiet down and focus on peace. It helps me to be in the moment which is usually hard for me.” – Nancy

“Singing requires that my breath propel me into the music and the moment where there is peace.” – Marianne

“For me it’s the same thing that brings me joy: morning walks watching the little creatures (squirrels, bunnies and different kinds of birds doing their morning activities), and when I listen to beautiful, soft music.” – Pat

“My peaceful place is anywhere there are trees, bushes, and creatures.” – Diane

“When I feel something is not to my "liking" (usually means it's not going MY way) I simply decide to let the situation rest with a promise to find the solution later. It's much more fun and pleasant for me to find solutions when I've had a chance to let it go for the moment. I make sure that I have eaten and hydrated and perhaps spoken with someone about the possible solution(s) first. Life is such a trip! Every day with new joys and challenges.” - Joanie

Thank you so very much, dear Readers, for sharing your inspiring peace practices. May they help us as we continue to nurture inner peace and extend the times in which we are peaceful. May we nourish our minds, bodies, and souls with peace, compassion, and love for ourselves and all beings.

Thank you for choosing peace in your thoughts, words, and actions.
Yours in peace and love always,
Donna
