PEACE OF POSITIVITY

Dear Friend in Peace,

At a time when it may seem as if everyone is willing and able to tell us what is wrong, cultivating and maintaining peace may seem impossible. Grateful to say, it is not.

Peace is always present and accessible. Rather than choosing thoughts and words which predict doom and gloom, we can select our thoughts and words carefully, peacefully, choosing only those which help us keep our hearts open and peaceful.

As people of peace, we work to help everyone to be and feel safe through our words and actions. Rather than wringing our hands bemoaning the situation, we can choose to hold thoughts of what we want to see in our world. Our positivity helps create an environment of hope as we recognize and affirm that our nation is going to come through this challenging chapter with renewed commitment to democracy, a greater understanding of how our system of government works, greater commitment to addressing climate change and a commitment to listening to one another with respect.

The more we express what is happening in our nation and our world in a positive vein, the more peaceful, hopeful and powerful we feel. This is not a call to play Pollyanna, but simply to remember the power of the positive. Our energy literally changes when we state our goals in a positive manner rather than telling stories of “ain’t it awful?” Rather than moan about what we don’t want, we simply speak of what we do want.

Let us focus on the positive that is flowing from the citizenry of the US right now as more people are standing up for democracy, for civil rights, for education, for a social safety net, etc.

When we take our power from inner Peace, it allows us to be present with others who believe differently about many things, but share the common ground of compassion, kindness, and sister/brotherhood. Ours is to create a safe space for ourselves and others in which to live. We do this through our open hearts and commitment to peace. Agreement on everything is never required or needed except on the principle of Liberty and Justice for all. No exceptions there and no one left behind. All welcomed in peace and the experiment in democracy called the US.

Thank you for choosing peace in your thoughts, words, and actions.
Yours in peace and love always,
Donna
