PEACE OF OUR TRUE NATURE
Dear Friend in Peace,
When we arrive on this Earth, we often teach Love and Peace to the adults around us because Love and Peace are our true nature. I am reminded of a photo of my great granddaughter, Ms. O, taken when she was about 1 year old. She and a wee friend were sitting beside one another and Ms. O had her hand on her friend's leg as if to say, "It's okay, I am here with you and I love you. All is well. All is peace." To me that photo expresses the truth of all of us, we are Love and Peace and we are here to share Love and Peace with one another.
Over time, our true nature can become buried under a barrage of fear communicated energetically, physically, and /or verbally. Instead of shining as the Love and Peace that we are, our true nature can become hidden, and we can unwittingly become part of the chorus of "Ain't it awful!" We can list our faults, those of our neighbors, those of everyone everywhere, and we may even find it difficult to articulate one loving or peaceful thought. The Kingston Trio played and sang a silly song, "The Merry Minuet." It includes the words below which describe us precisely when we lose touch with our true nature:
"The whole world is festering with unhappy souls.
The French hate the Germans,
the Germans hate the Poles.
Italians hate Yugoslavs,
South Africans hate the Dutch.
And I don't like anybody very much!"
How do we escape the world of fear and return to our true nature of Love and Peace?
• We recognize our lack of peace.
o "I feel agitated and scared."
• We realize we have the power to change our thoughts, to stop listening to the external and internal voices of fear in our minds.
o "I choose to stop listening to my scared little mind and instead listen to my wise and loving heart. My heart can, and will, bring me home to love and peace."
• We realize we have the power to use our breath to help us return to peace as well.
o "I breathe out all that is not peaceful within my mind and body.
o I breathe in Love and Peace.
o I breathe out the gunk
o I breathe in Love and Peace."
• We offer peace to another just like Ms. O did.
o "I can help my friend by touching her/his hand and by opening my heart and extending Love and Peace to my friend."
Offering peace to another takes us out of our own stew, opens our hearts, and offers the blessings of peace to others and ourselves. We take control of our lives through choosing thoughts, words, and actions that align with Love and Peace.
"If you wish to experience peace,
provide peace for another."
- Dalai Lama
We are indeed here to love one another, to be loved, to offer peace to one another and to be peace. Today and every day, may we show up as our true nature: Love and Peace.
Thank you for choosing peace in your thoughts, words, and actions.
Yours in peace and love always,
Donna
