This had to be the photo to go with thoughts about the peace of humility because of the reality of a turtle's existence. No preening is possible for this precious being. It shows up as it is, with debris from the water on its shell and simply soaks up the warmth of the sun without any fuss. it shows up as the peace of humility and teaches us all to simply be. The photo was taken at Ichetucknee Springs State Park.

PEACE OF HUMILITY
Dear Friend in Peace,
As people of peace, we cultivate qualities which strengthen our serenity. Humility sings of simplicity while creating what can become enduring inner peace. Humility guides us away from pretending we know everything and are smarter than everyone else and allows us to be just as we are and to feel peaceful.
Humility does not require anyone else's attention, adoration, or praise; it is content to simply be present and peaceful. Humility guides us to learn from others rather than acting as if we have answers to everything.
"Everyone is my teacher," is humility's point of view and a peaceful path to learning. My beloved Grandpa instructed me with these wise words when I was a little girl: "You already know what you know. If you are talking, you are not learning. So listen and learn."
Humility not only listens, it encourages and praises others. It looks for good and focuses on the oneness of all beings which guides us home to peace.
Mahatma Gandhi became the epitome of humility in every aspect of his life and was one of the greatest peace gurus our world has known. He taught us peace through the power of nonviolent resistance. He lived simply, spun his own clothing, required no special treatment, and chose to live as one of the people, not some aloof Ruler, living in a palace and requiring others to bow down to him. His life was a demonstration of humility, non-violence, peace, and love.
"Humility is comfortable with not knowing.
Humility has no need to impress,
to put on a show.
Humility is satisfied to be at peace."
- Jonathan Goldman - Essential Light Institute
Peace flows from humility. Allow peace to flow within your heart, within your life now.
Thank you for choosing peace in your thoughts, words, and actions.
Yours in peace and love always,
Donna
