I chose this photo because it is simple, peaceful, and beautiful. I love the colors, the simple elements of Father Sky and Mother Earth. May it help us remember and live the power and peace of simplicity.

PEACE IS SIMPLE

Dear Friend in Peace,

Our minds tell us that to be worthy and important, we must be busy and worried about something.  Our wise hearts whisper: Simply Be. Be the Peace you came to be.

Peace is simple

Peace requires no equipment
No special setting
No appointment
No announcement

Peace
simply
is

Ours is to be sculptors of serenity
and chip away all that is not
PEACE

Less allows the presence of peace to shine and sparkle in our hearts. Rather than rush from this to that, we can choose to do what needs to be done mindfully, peacefully. What is time for if not for being peace and being love? May we remember as Venerable Bhikkhu Pannakara instructed us on the Walk for Peace we can begin each day with the affirmation: "Today is going to be my peaceful day." Throughout the day, we can check in and ask ourselves:
• "Am I peaceful?
• Is there something I can do to simplify my life and bring me home to peace?

I look forward to hearing your thoughts, successes, challenges, and ideas for creating more peace in YOUR life. Last week when we focused on Creating Peace, Albert offered this powerful practice to help us all be more peaceful: Place your hands together and press directly into your heart to find your sea of tranquility. Then place your second, third and fourth fingers of your left hand into these indentations in your chest, raise your right hand and focus on the rising and falling of your chest as you follow your breath. Focus on the sensations, silence, and rhythm within. Say to yourself Ong namo guru dev namo (I bow to my highest self). Then say out loud Om Shanti - Peace..

Thank you for choosing peace in your thoughts, words and actions. I welcome, encourage and enjoy your comments and suggestions.

Yours in peace and love always,
Donna
