Peace of Inspiration: Part 2

I chose this photo because clouds are a profound and constant source of inspiration for me. I look at a cloud and feel my heart open. Then it dances and I feel my breath get deeper as I stand and inhale the joy, the inspiration and the peace of clouds! May this and all clouds bring you peace and inspiration as well.

PEACE OF INSPIRATION - Part 2

Dear Friend in Peace,

Maintaining and sustaining inner peace is more essential than ever when all that we stand for as a nation is being dismantled and tossed aside in the pursuit of money and power for the privileged few.
Our inner peace holds us steady and calm as we stand up[1] and speak up[2] about what is happening and what we want: “Government of the people, for the people, by the people,”[3]. Peace guides us to help ourselves and others remember that we love one another.

It is essential for us, as people of peace, to maintain and nurture inner peace. As we discovered last week, inspiration feeds our souls and so helps us bolster our peace power. This week’s inspiration flows from an amazing, powerful woman who knew much of rejection, ridicule, and betrayal and chose to turn it around into great good for Americans, our nation, and our world. The woman is Eleanor Roosevelt who has served as a beacon of Light in my life, and I suspect, millions of others. Somehow, despite all the negativity and scorn she faced, she forged the inner strength and courage to become a powerful advocate for those in need. She emphasized that civil rights and civil liberties were the most important aspects of democracy and worked tirelessly to bring about rights for blacks. She almost single-handedly ushered in the Bill of Human Rights at the UN and was subsequently called: "First Lady of the World."

These words of Eleanor’s touch my heart and bring me courage. May they touch yours as well:

“Courage is more exhilarating than fear and in the long run it is easier.”
- Eleanor Roosevelt

Her example inspires me to summon courage to stand up and speak up and to continue to nurture and expand my peace. Her courage inspires me to believe and know that in every breath, I can, we can bring in peace. In every breath, we can release all that is not peace. Her example inspires me to know we can choose peace, we do not have to listen to voices of fear, anger, and/or hate. We can, we shall, and we do STOP.

STOP
-----
Sit in silence
Take a deep breath
Open your heart.
Place your hands on your heart.
-----
Allow peace to fill your heart,
your mind,
your body,
your soul.

Your peace changes everything within and around you.

Thank you for choosing peace in your thoughts, words, and actions.

Yours in peace and love always,

Donna
